Handy AppleScripts

SetMinDepth - This is a simple AppleScript that was designed with Apple Network Assistant in mind. When it runs, it sets the screen color depth to the minimum that the card will allow. It also removes any desktop picture and it sets the background pattern to a simple on. When the program quits, it restores all settings back to the way they were. It has been tested on Mac OS 9 and Mac OS 8.6. Suggested Usage: From within ANA, click on the computer you are about to control. Then copy and open the "SetMinDepth" program. You can now control the remote computer at the fastest refresh rate. When you are done controlling the remote computer, before you relinquish control, quit the program. Immediately close the control window. You can monitor the "Status" window to make sure that the "SetMinDepth" program successfully quits.

PutAwayMountedVolumes - Empty's the trash then "Put's away all volumes that are not local". If a volume has an item open, the program will bring up a dialog saying so. You should then close whatever is open, then run this again.

->SetFile&Creator - Set's the File Type and Creator Type to anything you want. WARNING: This is recursive, so any folders dragged on it will also be set. You can drag one or more files/folders onto this applet. When used, it will display the last creator / file type that was used. You can Cancel and have nothing done; Change and you will be allowed to set the file type to change to or Do Conversion which will do the conversions.

AddHeader Put in your Codewarrior Scripts menu. Selecting the first time will add a File header, then each time you call it again it adds a change log.
